Oil Hitting Extreme Levels And Taleb Roubini Video

by Olivier on February 12, 2009

The ‘Guild Investment Global Market Commentary’ just came in.
I’m quoting:

‘It is a difficult time. May we suggest that you stay brave, because opportunities will arise.’

I guess there’s not much to add.

On to the markets: Oil is hitting extreme levels here. The gold-oil ratio is almost at a 20 year high. As I’ve already stated yesterday it is impossible to predict the exact bottom for oil. I would strongly advise to look for long only oil trades though. Shorting at these levels is not a good idea. Check the gold-oil ratio chart in my public list section for more info.

GERN displayed great strength today. Exactly what a strong stock is expected to do. In after hours trading though the stock is down. The reason seems to be rumors of a small secondary offering. I haven’t found a source for the news yet. In any case that’s bad because the stock will probably gap down tomorrow but on the other hand if there’s a secondary offering it will provide a support level. Let’s see what happens.

I recently quoted Taleb. Here’s a video with Nassim Taleb and Nouriel Roubini I stumbled upon.

Have a great evening.
